In addition to improving existing facilities and services, the Spaceport continues to find new and groundbreaking ways to increase value for tenants and partners and to change fundamentally what it means to be a resident business in an American spaceport.
Houston, We Have a Dedicated Mission Control
The first of its kind, the new control tower at Ellington Airport has dedicated mission-control facilities for commercial spaceflight operations.
Measuring 143-feet tall, the tower is almost twice as high as the prior tower, making ample space available for tenants.
Phase 1 Improvement Project — $18.8 Million for Infrastructure Improvements
On 153.6 acres set aside for Phase 1 Expansion, construction of streets, water and wastewater pipelines, electrical power and distribution and communications facilities has begun. Because the Spaceport offers full access to this infrastructure, tenants of all sizes have the flexibility to configure spaces to their exact requirements.
