Manages the advancement of Houston Airports by developing and maintaining effective two-way communications with key local, national and international government entities, business and civic groups, key legislators and federal entities, the traveling public, domestic and international airlines and stakeholders. Provides vital support for new and expanded air service through worldwide corporate and commercial relations. Serves as Houston Airports liaison with the Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Customs and Border Protection, the U.S. Department of State, U.S. Department of Commerce, and the Transportation Security Administration.

An integral part of the General Accounting and Financial Reporting section of Finance, this role is responsible for producing the Comprehensive Annual Financial Report and ensuring required government deadlines are met. Serves as the team lead on the monthly financial close, the detailed annual reporting package for the FAA, and a complex report submitted annually to the American Council International. Required to stay up to date on all existing and new Governmental Accounting Standards Board (GASB) pronouncements to ensure Houston Airports records transactions and reports financial statements in accordance with those standards. Supervises audit request responses required to be submitted within the mayor mandated three-day turnaround. This role is the liaison to the external auditors and the Controller's Office.
