The Airport Board of Adjustment was established February 1, 2009 (appointed by the Mayor and confirmed by City Council). The purpose of the Airport Board of Adjustment is to hear and decide appeals, special requests, and requests for variance to the Airport Land Use Regulations Ordinance passed by City Council on December 3, 2008 and made effective February 1, 2009; as well as the Airport Hazard Area Regulations Ordinance passed December 16, 2009 and made effective March 1, 2010. The Airport Board of Adjustment (Board) is a quasi-judicial independent body that meets monthly, on an as needed basis. The Board may hear and decide an appeal from an order, requirement, decision, or determination made in the enforcement of a provision of the Airport Compatible Land Use and Hazard Area Ordinances (Articles VI and VII, Chapter 9, City of Houston Code of Ordinances). All Board meetings, including special meetings, shall be open to the public and shall be held in full compliance with the provisions of the Open Meetings Act, Chapter 551 of the Texas Government Code, other State law, and the ordinances of the City of Houston.
For 2019, the meetings will be held at 6:00 p.m. in the City Hall Annex Council Chambers located at 900 Bagby, Public Level, Houston, Texas. The regular meeting schedule is as follows:
