The Houston Airport System is comprised of three different airport facilities: George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH), William P. Hobby Airport (HOU) and Ellington Airport (EFD). Highlights pertaining to each airport facility can be viewed below.
George Bush Intercontinental Airport (IAH)
- Houston's largest airport and the 8th busiest airport in the U.S. in passenger numbers
- More than 11,000 acres
- More than 40 million passengers traveled through IAH in 2017, including more than 10 million international passengers
- 27 passenger airlines
- 5 passenger terminals
William P. Hobby Airport (HOU)
- Welcomed international air service in 2015
- Nonstop or direct service to nearly 60 destinations throughout the U.S., Latin America and the Caribbean
- More than 13 million passengers served in 2017
- 37th busiest airport in the U.S. for passenger totals in 2016
- New federal inspection services facility opened October 2015
Ellington Airport (EFD)
- Became the nation's 10th licensed commercial spaceport in June 2015
- Supports the operations of the United States Military, NASA and a variety of general aviation tenants
- Home of the annual Wings Over Houston Airshow
- Provides 24-hour air traffic control services
